Luminy® PLA for rigid packaging

Luminy® PLA is commonly processed using thermoforming, tandem extrusion and injection molding. It works on most existing production lines with little to no modifications, including Form-Fill-Seal (FFS) systems.

High-heat grades, like L105, L130, L175, and LX575, are typically used for high-heat containers or coffee capsules. Standard grades like LX175 and LX975 are used for cold containers, including clamshells, yogurt pots, and blisters.

Yes! Luminy® PLA solutions are currently used by some parts converters to produce foamed applications, including packaging and coolers.

Luminy® PLA is food contact approved, making it a great start to the plastics supply chain for companies looking to create packaging for foods. In addition, our product is biobased, compostable, recyclable, can be transparent, and can be heat resistant up to 100°C. These are all attributes that are attractive to the end consumer and perfect for many different food packaging uses.
