With 35 years of international business and industrial experience across multiple TotalEnergies subsidiaries in Europe and Asia, Thierry has led organizations through complex market environments while driving operational excellence and sustainable value creation. His leadership will support TotalEnergies Corbion as the company continues delivering high-quality, innovative PLA solutions to customers worldwide.

Executive Biography
Thierry Boulfroy, born in 1963, is an accomplished executive with more than 35 years of international leadership experience across the petrochemicals, polymers, and refining sectors. In 2025, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of TotalEnergies Corbion, the global 50/50 joint venture dedicated to the production and commercialization of Luminy® PLA. In this role, Thierry leads the company’s ambition to scale PLA globally and accelerate the transition toward low-carbon, circular materials.
Thierry’s career spans a series of senior leadership positions in Asia and Europe, where he has driven industrial excellence, operational transformation, and strategic growth. From 2020 to 2025, he served as Executive Vice-President and Joint Representative Director of the Hanwha TotalEnergies Petrochemical joint venture in South Korea, overseeing major petrochemical operations and strategic partnerships.
Prior to this, he was General Manager of TotalEnergies Petrochemicals Feluy in Belgium (2015), leading one of TotalEnergies’s key polymer production platforms. From 2008 to 2015, he held major leadership roles in Asia, including Managing Director of TotalEnergies Refining & Petrochemicals Singapore and earlier General Manager of TotalEnergies Petrochemicals Thailand, as well as Business Manager for Polystyrene Compounds across the Asia-Pacific region. His earlier career includes global positions in polystyrene industrial coordination, logistics, and commercial leadership within TotalEnergies, Atofina, Elf Atochem, Bostik Findley, and Orkem, spanning locations such as Singapore, Thailand, Belgium, Paris, Hong Kong, and South Korea.
Thierry is recognized for his deep operational expertise, international mindset, and ability to build high-performing, culturally diverse teams. As CEO of TotalEnergies Corbion, he is focused on expanding Luminy® PLA’s presence worldwide, strengthening industrial performance, and positioning the joint venture as a leading force in sustainable, biobased polymer innovation.
