Proprietary Luminy® PLA grades for many applications

Whether you’re exploring options for a new project or fine-tuning an existing one, our team is here to help you find the right solution to fit your business’ needs.

  • High heat PLA for demanding applications
  • Standard PLA for general purpose applications
  • Low heat PLA typically used as seal layer
  • PDLA used either as a nucleating agent or to create full stereocomplex compounds

Feedstock transparency

Luminy® PLA starts with a single ingredient: ethically farmed sugarcane.

We ensure responsible sourcing by holding our sugarcane suppliers to a strict code of conduct—protecting ethical business practices, human and labor rights, and the environment. This commitment is built into our supplier qualification process, ensuring sustainability at every step.

Luminy® PLA is always made from GMO-free feedstocks and made with Bonsucro-certified sugarcane upon request.

Enhance sustainability with 30% and 100% recycled Luminy® PLA

Recycled Luminy® PLA grades, known as rPLA, are commercially available. Certified by SCS Global Services, Luminy® rPLA can reduce your product’s carbon footprint without compromising on look, functionality, or durability.

The recycled content is sourced from a mix of post- and pre-consumer recycled material and allocated via a mass balance method. Luminy® rPLA grades can be used in any place virgin PLA is used, including food contact applications, enabling lower carbon material options.

Creating compounds with Luminy® PLA

TotalEnergies Corbion works closely with companies, offering its technical expertise to develop compounds using Luminy® PLA. By combining PLA bioplastics with a wide range of materials, they enhance its properties, broadening its use in numerous sustainable applications.
