Gorinchem, the Netherlands / Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – November 2025 — TotalEnergies Corbion, a global leader in sustainable bioplastics, has appointed Vichem as its official distribution partner for Luminy® PLA in Vietnam, strengthening its presence in one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing plastics markets.
Vietnam’s plastics industry, expected to reach 17.7 million tonnes by 2030 (CAGR ~8%), is undergoing a significant transformation driven by green growth policies, export market expectations, and rising consumer demand for sustainable materials. With bioplastics projected to grow more than 18% annually, Vietnam is poised to become a key market for renewable, lower-carbon alternatives.
Under this collaboration, Vichem will distribute the Luminy® PLA portfolio — a biobased, recyclable, and compostable polymer that enables lower carbon footprint products across packaging, consumer goods, agriculture, and technical applications.
